I don't know what's going on internally at LastPass at the moment, but there are a lot of frustrated customers paying good money and getting a very poor experience (highlighted in this subreddit). Suggesting shutting down discussions about problems in this subreddit would be a catastrophic error in judgment, and, in my opinion, tantamount to censorship. The other is the fact that LastPass MFA is being deprecated and LastPass Authenticator positioned as a drop-in replacement without any missing features, yet a critical feature we use is in fact missing - this has not been addressed.Īttempting the use the support callback feature results in a silent line (tried 3 times). One of those is an inability to actually buy LastPass Identity licenses which places our company in the embarrassing position that we can't properly onboard new staff (which has only just now received a meaningful response but still not rectified). I have two open support tickets that are unresolved after 3 weeks. Right now, LastPass is experiencing an existential problem with both technical issues and its support capability. I've been a LastPass Enterprise customer for > 6 years. Of course, I am open to feedback and open and honest communication. Lastly, I am thinking about potentially opening up modship positions, but haven’t made a decision either way. I can see why users would want to get help from a subreddit with 6k+ people about the software they are using, it’s clear they have been quite common and perhaps people don’t wish to see that sort of thing on the sub anymore. There also may be reasonable exceptions for this, and moderators will have discretion on this.įinally, I am considering instituting a rule eliminating the use of this sub for technical issues. While I understand why users continue to bring them up, as users were used to the status quo for so long, these are also ultimately low-effort posts that don’t contribute to normal discussions. In addition, around 3 months ago, Lastpass fundamentally changed its business model, increasing the price and most importantly changing the device limit to 1 without payment. There may be reasonable exceptions, such as if a genuine Lastpass user asks what are some alternatives to Lastpass, so hopefully, it will be less prevalent. These are consistent low-effort replies that aren't constructive to the discussion, and users have made clear they are unwanted. So, the specific changes are that you should not be replying to threads solely to suggest users use a different password manager. I elaborated on this when I posted the "This sub is not /r/Bitwarden" PSA in that this sub is ultimately a fan subreddit for Lastpass' discussion. I have seen numerous posts that seek solely to post suggestions to use Bitwarden, a different password manager, instead of Lastpass' to support threads.
